About Myney

Myney is a free personal money assistant built to stop everyday money waste.

Most people don't need another budgeting app or another spreadsheet. They need help catching the things that slip through the cracks: missed deadlines, overpriced bills, forgotten subscriptions, expired contracts, and financial admin that never makes it to the top of the to-do list.

That's why we built Myney.

What We Believe

Managing your money shouldn't feel like a second job.

We believe people shouldn't have to constantly monitor providers, compare plans, remember every deadline, or spend hours researching better options just to avoid wasting money. A good financial assistant should do that work for you.

Myney exists to make money management more automatic, more intelligent, and far less stressful.

Why I Founded Myney

Markellos Diorinos, CEO & Founder

I didn't come from money — everything I have, I worked for. But somewhere along the way, I realised I was still bad at managing it.

I hate dealing with bills. I rarely look for better offers. I forget deadlines. And the long-term things — saving, planning, making money work harder — are always easy to postpone.

For years, I told myself I'd get to it later. I usually didn't.

Then in early 2025, I missed a government deadline for a tax relief scheme. I had house insurance that qualified me for a property tax discount. The form would have taken five minutes to submit. I lost over €150 simply because I forgot.

That was the moment it clicked.

The real problem wasn't one missed form. It was the pattern behind it. An electricity plan I never switched. A subscription I forgot I was paying for. A mobile contract that rolled over at a worse price. A little bit of cash sitting in a savings account, idle. Small leaks, everywhere. Each one easy to ignore. Taken together, they add up to hundreds of euros a year quietly disappearing.

I wanted something that would actually handle this for me. Not a spreadsheet (believe me, I tried). Not another app that asks me to do more work (I tried several of those too). A real assistant — one that watches, understands, and helps me act.

That became Myney. What started as a personal frustration quickly became a company with a much broader mission.

How We Got Here

  • April 2025 — The idea starts to take shape. I begin mapping out what a truly hands-off personal finance assistant should look like.
  • June 2025 — A motorcycle accident puts me in hospital for two months. With nothing but time on my hands, I pour it all into designing Myney — the product, the experience, and the business model.
  • December 2025 — I bring together a small team, and we start building the MVP, tackling the hardest problems first: open banking integrations, market data pipelines, and the recommendation engine.
  • March 2026 — We launch the website and open the waitlist. The first version of Myney is close.

Why Myney Is Free

I've always been suspicious of products that charge you money to help you save money. If a company depends on your subscription, its incentive is to keep you subscribed — not to actually solve your problem as quickly and effectively as possible.

Myney works differently. We're completely free to use. When we help you switch to a better deal — a cheaper energy plan, a better mobile contract — the new provider may pay us a referral fee. That's it. That's the entire business model.

This means we only earn when you save. If we don't find you a better deal, we make nothing. Our interests are aligned with yours by design, not by promise.

People shouldn't have to spend money to save money. Full stop.

Built for Trust

Money is personal, and trust has to be earned.

Myney is being built to handle financial data with the seriousness it deserves. That means being clear about how we work, what we do, and what we do not do.

We are focused on building a service that is useful, transparent, and aligned with the user. No paid plans. No pressure to manufacture savings. No incentives that depend on keeping people subscribed.

A few things we want to be crystal clear about:

  • Free to use — no subscriptions, no premium tier, no paywall
  • Aligned incentives — we only earn when we help you save
  • Built on real financial infrastructure — open banking integrations are core to the product
  • Local-first approach — we're starting in Greece and Poland, where our team has direct understanding of the market
  • A real company behind it — we're registered in Ireland as Plutus FIRE Limited
  • Trust as a product requirement — if we handle financial data, we have to earn the right to do so

We're still early, but the standard is clear: if Myney is going to help people make decisions about money, it has to be worthy of that responsibility.

The Team

Myney is built by a small, focused team spread across Greece and Poland:

  • Markellos — CEO & Founder
  • Manto — Product Management
  • Danae — AI & Data Analytics
  • Dominik — Architecture & Backend
  • Tomek — Frontend
  • Artur — UI/UX
  • Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini & DeepSeek — LLMs that support the team across research, code, copy, and more

We're intentionally small. That helps us move fast, stay close to the problem, and care deeply about the details. But we also have the technical depth to build something genuinely useful in a complicated space.

We're not trying to build a flashy finance app. We're trying to build a money advisor people can actually rely on.

The Bigger Picture — Financial Independence

Saving money on a bill matters. But the real goal is bigger than that.

There's a growing movement called FIRE — Financial Independence, Retire Early — built on a simple idea: if you manage your money well, you can reach a point where work becomes a choice, not an obligation. Not a fantasy reserved for the wealthy, but a realistic path built on spending less than you earn, eliminating waste, and making your money work for you over time.

It's not about extreme frugality or giving up the things you enjoy. It's about not throwing money away on things you don't even notice — which is exactly what most of us do every month.

Myney is built with this philosophy at its core. Every euro we help you save is a euro that can go towards your freedom. And our company name — Plutus FIRE — is no coincidence. Plutus, the Greek god of wealth, and FIRE, the movement that proves financial independence is achievable.

If you're curious about the FIRE movement, these are good starting points:

Where We're Going

Myney isn't static. As the world around you changes — new offers, new products, new regulations, new needs — Myney changes with it. We'll always expand what we cover and what we can do for you, the same way any good advisor would.

More countries. More provider categories. Smarter recommendations. Better automation. And always free.
